Food Establishment Permit (risk-based)

Risk Level 1: $141 (<2,000 sq ft) / $155 (larger); Risk Level 2: $283 / $308; Risk Level 3: $468 / $513. Kiosk/self-service: $240.

Food truck / mobile permit

Mobile Food Unit permit - Texas DSHS statewide license (HB 2844)

DSHS: Type I $309; Type II $618 (+$400 pre-licensing inspection); Type III $876 (+$500 pre-licensing inspection)

Effective 2026-07-01, per HB 2844 (2025), DCHHS mobile food unit permits are no longer valid and are not grandfathered; operators must hold the DSHS statewide mobile food unit license. DCHHS previously charged $258/yr for a Mobile Food Unit permit ($150 plan review). Local fire/zoning still applies.
